The Rykestrasse Synagogue in Berlin has survived all periods, including the Nazi regime era, as it is located in a courtyard. During Communist times, it was located in Communist Germany and went through different periods of ups and downs till the reunification of Germany when it regained its place in Berlin Jewish life.
